Alateen

Clackamas, Columbia, Hood River, Multnomah, Sherman, Wasco & Washington Counties

Alateen, part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, supports young people who have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Below, teens share on Alateen unity, from the Alateen book Courage To Be Me – Living with Alcoholism.

“I liked hearing other people talk about the same things that were happening to me. I didn’t feel so alone anymore.”

“When I get to the meeting and tell my problem, the other Alateens share their experiences. I listen and get a lot of ideas and encouragement.”

Each Alateen group meeting is attended by two Alateen Group Sponsors, area Al-Anon members certified through the Area Al-Anon Member Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS) certification process, who provide guidance and encouragement. Meetings are run by Alateen members.
